Flight simulators for your computer have been around for quite a while now, and they let us experience what it would be like to pilot a 757 Jumbo Jet, or an old Stearman biplane, or even a space shuttle launch. Flight simulators are becoming even more popular these days. And more expensive! That is, until someone had the great idea to gather a group of people to build the best flight sim yet, and make it open source. In other words, free!
   We think that the folks over at FlightGear.org have really outdone themselves. And there are many thousands more who agree, that this really is something to look at for any serious flight simmer.
Any kind of airplane you can imagine flying, they probably have a version of it. The flight model they use gives the feel of real 'air' flying. In fact, this flight sim rivals any 'store bought' flight sim currently offered.
